1. Use A High-Quality PLR Package

The most important thing is to always use a high-quality PLR package. There are some excellent writers out there that put out great PLR packages you can purchase.

You can visit their sites read through the free PLR they have available. Read them carefully and get a real sense for the writer’s style. Do you think their style would resonate with your readers.

Go with your gut as to whether the quality of the articles is good enough for you and your readers. Does the writer say something original, or is it just a rehash existing concepts? Does the writing have a good flow to it?

Can you do a good rewrite of the article? You must understand the concepts the writer is using to make a good rewrite.

2. Can The Article Be Rewritten?

To use PLR content, you’ll need to rewrite the article even if it is a great article. You can do this yourself or outsource it to someone else to do.

3. Repurpose The PLR Product Using Multi-Media

One of the best ways to use PLR products is to take an article and turn it into multimedia content using audio or video.

Big Hint- Do this with all your articles and your traffic will increase very fast.

Take the PLR content and hire someone on eLance or Fiverr to do a voice over if you feel uncomfortable reading it yourself. You can then turn it into an MP3 download and put it on your blog or better yet put it on your blog and distribute it to podcast directories.

You can also hire someone to create a powerpoint slideshow for the audio. You can then merge the audio and the slideshow to create a nice video that you can post on your blog and you tube. There are people on Fiverr that will do this for very cheap.

I will be coming out with a article or maybe even a video very soon of how Fiverr  has completely changed the way I do things. As a matter of fact I was about to give up on online marketing about 2 years ago until I found Fiverr. It saved my online life.

Using PLR content allows you to use a little less effort. Especially if you have trouble coming up with topics to write about. Just remember to rewrite the PLR products in your voice and you will be good to go.

WordPress Themes Are Great for Affiliate Marketing

WordPress is a popular platform used to set up blogs and websites. If you know nothing about websites then how to set them up it can be a little  scary to have to do so. Before WordPress I was unable to set up a decent looking website without help. WordPress takes the guesswork out of the process, is very user friendly and you can get up and running in very little time.

You must be aware that there are two WordPress sites: WordPress.com and WordPress.org. WordPress.com used to be popular with many bloggers. I still have some blogs there I use to drive traffic to my sites. It is a ready-made site that can be set up right away. You lose some functionality with the wordpress.com though.

You want to use the WordPress.org platform for your business.

Setting Up an Affiliate Site

Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to break into internet marketing. You can potentially make a good  living by promoting other companies products or services. For an affiliate marketing program, you will want to go with WordPress.org. Some people may be a little scared of this because it is open source. That means you will need to have a domain name and a web hosting company before using it. Most web host are very easy to integrate with WordPress.

Before you set up hosting you need to get a domain name. I get all my domain names from GoDaddy. You can click on the GoDaddy banner on the right to get this month’s special on domain names. Yes I make a few bucks if you do. That’s what affiliate marketing is all about.I suggest you get your hosting from somewhere else.

I use both Hostgator and Bluehost to host a lot of my sites. I prefer Bluehost. Easier to navigate for me. You can get hosting for like $6.95 a month. Both are good though.

So, as we just alluded to, the next step is downloading the open source software through your web host. This can be pretty much done with the push of a button or two. But, for a fee, your web host will be happy to do it for you. But if I can do it, you can believe me.

Now you are ready to build your site. WordPress offers a lot both for the new and the experienced affiliate marketer. One benefit is its customization. You have a variety of themes to choose from for the look of your site. There are free themes and paid themes. There are plenty of free themes to choose from so there is no need to buy a theme at this point. I have used both and most free ones are fine. You can also change themes at anytime without losing any of your work.

Just google free wordpress themes and 1000s will be available for you to choose from. This theme I am using here is Absolum and it’s a free one.

Did I mention that WordPress is free? Yes all of the benefits of the software are free to use. And, it features plug-ins that can help you not only secure your site but also make it easier for you to manage. This is a plus if you are running several affiliate marketing sites.

Also, Google seems to like WordPress platforms a lot. This is good for you since you want their bots to crawl your affiliate sites.  This can mean more traffic and more traffic means more potential sales.

But, WordPress doesn’t leave you out in the cold.  Their customer support is available if you are having problems . The help button in the top right hand corner of your dashboard covers about any problem you will run into.  Once you get the hang of setting up a WordPress site, creating additional sites will not be a problem at all.

WordPress seems tailor-made for the affiliate marketer as well as blogging. Use wordpress to help you grow your business today.

Learn How To Focus From A Hall Of Famer

I recently read an article about the great baseball player Hank Aaron where he discussed how to focus. Getting focused before each and every game was a big deal to him.

In case you don’t know who Hank Aaron is :

I found it interesting because I know how hard it is for me to focus on things in my business that I know I need to do.

Evidently a lot of professional baseball players have trouble focusing also. He talked about how before a game in his day a lot of the players were playing cards in the locker room or just clowning around instead of getting focused on the task at hand. Getting ready for the game that night.

Hank would prepare himself for each game by finding a quiet spot and focusing on the pitcher he would face that night. He would read the scouting reports on the pitcher. Then he would think about the times he had faced the pitcher before in previous games.

He would think about the type of pitches the pitcher had thrown to him and when.

Hank said he would remember the success he had against the pitcher and concentrate on those moments. He would see himself hitting the ball in different situations.

Hank went on to break Babe Ruths home run record and was elected easily into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Hank said the difference between being a .270 hitter and being a .300 hitter was being able to focus before the game on the task at hand. Hitting .300 puts you in the Hall Of Fame. Hitting .270 means you are just a good player, but not a great player.

Are you like so many of the players that elect to goof off before the game and as a result become just average players or do you aspire to be a great player.

I have set a goal for myself this year to get focused on the things I need to focus on. Focus on important things that will make me more money first, then goofing off.

I need to learn how to focus like Hank.

Amazon Affiliate Program: Is It Worth the Time And Effort?

It seems like affiliate programs are all the rage these days. And why not? It is a good way to create an income stream with very little work once you get everything set up and a good traffic stream. One such program is the Amazon affiliate program.

Personally I have not had a lot of luck with Amazon but I know people that swear by the Amazon affiliate program. I know a guy right here in my local area that will be retiring from the military in about 5 or 6 months and concentrating on building his affiliate business. He is already doing pretty good and I expect him to kill it when he goes online full time.

Amazon is a big part of his business. He found a product that sells like hotcakes. The product comes in different sizes and colors and he markets the product everywhere.

What Is An Affiliate Program?

In case you are a newbie in the world of affiliate marketing, here is a quick tutorial about the concept. Affiliate marketing basically involves selling products for other companies and earning a commission on those sales.

There are many advantages to this model. First, you don’t have to store any inventory. The products are managed by the affiliate program owner, in this case Amazon. There is nothing for you to keep up with.

Second, you don’t even have to come up with tools to promote the products. The affiliate does that for you as well. They provide an affiliate toolbox filled with all sorts of goodies that help you to get started.

Banners of all sizes, text links and a good sales page that sells their product are what you can expect from a good affiliate.

You can use different codes on your site to embed pictures, text or both with your affiliate code so that it tracks back to you when someone clicks on the links and buys something.

Third, you don’t have to monitor the clicks. All of that is done for you, by the affiliate owner. They compute your payment and send it to you.

So, what’s your responsibility? Successfully promote the product and drive traffic to your site so others will take advantage of the offers displayed there.

But that is the problem for a lot of people. Promoting the products correctly and getting enough traffic to the site to make some decent money.

It takes way more traffic to the site that most people think when they are just starting out. You can help this tremendously by having a good sales funnel in place.

How Does Amazon Succeed?

Amazon is a pioneer in the affiliate marketing model. When you are growing a company it is often hard to also grow the advertising. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. Amazon have developed a strategy where they get others help to promote the products and services that they offer for a percentage of the commission on the sales.

It’s ingenious, actually. Now, someone else is working for you so you can concentrate on other business aspects.

That’s basically how all affiliate programs work with one difference. The Amazon name.

With Amazon.com, you are backed by a brand that people trust. When you promote any of their products, potential customers already know that it is good quality so you don’t have to sell them on that. The products practically sell themselves.

But, before joining any affiliate program, even Amazon.com, read the fine print. Know about fee structures, payment schedules and what you are getting to help you be a successful affiliate. This will help you evaluate whether the program itself is worth the effort.

If you are looking for a constant income stream that gets better over time, then this one may work for you. Some are skeptical about the low starting commission rate. However, while it is low compared to other programs, you can grow that as quickly as you want with increased sales each month.

A negative is that Amazon.com pays quarterly. You won’t see a check until the end of the first three months depending on when you sign up. So, it is not a quick bucks kind of program. It will take time to build up a nice income.

Is Amazon.com worth it? That depends on your affiliate marketing goals and how much work you are willing to put into it..

Establishing Your Online Credibility in 5 Easy Steps

Establishing your online credibility takes time. If you make mistakes along the way (like most of us do) it will take even longer.

Credibility is one of the rarest yet most powerful commodities online. If you have credibility, you’ll be able to get people on your email lists, get joint venture partners and get others to buy with ease.

Without credibility, nobody will give you their credit card number.

So how do you go about establishing your online credibility? You can do so in a few easy steps.

1. Share Your Story

A lot of marketers say you need to have a compelling “where I came from” story. I think most people just want to know a little about you.

Most of us think we are boring. But you will be surprised how many people will think you have an interesting story.

Have you ever noticed how just about every product ever invented has a story? Weight loss products tell the story of someone who was perpetually overweight finally losing the fat. Real estate gurus talk about how they went from rags to riches.

Stories are compelling. Figure out an attention-catching, respect-inspiring story to base your online identity around.

Just tell the truth. Some people in this business lie because they think they have to have some underdog makes it big story. Not everyone has that.

2. Show Results ?

Being a very private person this is one I struggle with. That’s why you see the question mark.

I know how easy it is to put false results out there.

Don’t be afraid to share the results that you’ve personally received if you think you need to.

If you’re giving advice about how to make money, share exactly how you are making money. If you’re giving advice about losing weight, share your exact measurements.

People want to be able to relate to you. They want to be able to feel that you’re one of them,  know what they’re going through, and that if you can do it so can they.

3. Use Proof Elements on Your Page

You should have several proof elements readily visible on your web page.

For example, if you’ve appeared on radio stations, put the logos of the radio stations on your page under “as seen on.”

If you have before and after photos, put those on your page as well.

A lot of people put pictures of themselves with internet marketing stars they met at internet marketing conferences on their websites. I see people all the time at conferences asking to have their picture taken with the guru’s.

To me all it means they have a picture with someone. Most times the guru barely knows the person if at all. I guess you could use it to say see I attend conferences.

The idea is to give people bite-sized chunks of credibility. They might not even consciously look at it, but just having them there makes a difference.

4. Make A Good First Impression

The first impression is very important. Though you can’t tell your whole story in the first impression, it’s important that you have one or two proof elements here.

Have a before and after picture above the fold if your market is weight loss.

Or have a killer testimonials prominently displayed on the front page. Or have your most spectacular achievement showcased upfront.

If you are just starting out don’t be afraid to say that. People will respect you if you are putting out good information they can use.

This site was started as a way to tell you about people in the internet marketing industry that will not rip you off. Anyone I recommend means I have used their products and know you will get your money’s worth if you apply the information they give.

They really want you to succeed.

5. Work To Get Social Proof

Social proof is one of the most powerful ways of building credibility. Why? Because it doesn’t come from you.

Social proof means that other people who have no financial gain from endorsing you like your product enough to go out of their way to help you. It sends a strong message.

Social proof includes comments on blog posts, testimonials on other people’s blogs or word of mouth endorsements from friends.

Forum marketing could be a great way for you to gain some credibility. People see you helping other people.

These are a few of the most powerful ways to establish your credibility online. In the beginning, this process takes quite a bit of thought, as you have to plan out your story and discover your proof elements.

Once you’ve got it down, however, your proof elements will keep working for you again and again, without you having to do much work.

Becoming a super affiliate is a great way to make a good living. Finding a niche market with products and services you trust and believe in is the first step to success.  There are tremendous affiliate programs which offer you an abundance of tools and materials to promote and market their products. However, what you do with those tools and materials is entirely up to you.

You can be just another affiliate or really push yourself and become a  super affiliate.

What Is A Super Affiliate?

Technically speaking a super affiliate is someone who generates a significant amount of profits for the products or services they represent.  A super affiliate can make a healthy living from their affiliate business alone while a standard every day affiliate may need to supplement their affiliate income with, gasp…a 9-5 job!

Basically they make their living just working online as an affiliate selling other people’s products.

Benefits To Being A Super Affiliate

The most significant benefit to being a super affiliate is the income.  Many super affiliates make six figures simply promoting the products and services of others.

Additionally, if you’re one of the main contributors to a company’s affiliate program they’re going to pay attention to you and your needs.  You may receive a higher percentage of sales you may receive first shot with new marketing materials and programs and you’ll get the support you need when you need it.

You will also receive numerous new products for free before they are launched to the public. Basically marketers are recruiting you to sell their products and services.

In addition to the the 5 steps to becoming a super affiliate above you must become a master of getting traffic to your website and getting them signed up on your list so you can email them on a regular basis and bond with with them.

It is much easier to sell to the prospects already on your list than to  constantly be trying to get large numbers of traffic to your site and sell them cold. Especially in the beginning when it takes time to get large numbers of traffic to your site.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season. I am still recuperating. I spend every Christmas in California with my kids and two granddaughters.

Well this year I got sick while there. I caught a virus and spread it around to everyone by Christmas day. Then I came home and went to Orlando to the Florida Citrus Bowl on Jan.2 and came down with a terrible sore throat and cold while I was there.

We Have So Much To Be Thankful For During The Holidays

I am out in Sacramento where I spend every Christmas with my two daughters and two grandchildren. I am an especially private person (just ask my family) and normally don’t share much private information about myself or my loved ones.

But in this new social marketing age one of my golas for 2012 is to open up a little bit and put myself on audio and videos, etc.

This year I am especially thankful here at Christmas because of an event that happened a week and half ago. Things happen so fast and this life can be short.

My youngest daughter (27) was leaving her boyfriends house in San Diego. Her truck was parked on the street. So as she was about to open the door on the drivers side a vehicle approaching fron the opposite direction swerved over and struck my daughter and her boyfriend.

Just inches saved their lives.

 There were still many injuries especially to her boyfriend who was hit in the back and his head slammed against her truck. He also suffered a broken leg in several places and spent about a week in the hospital and had to have a couple surgeries. My daughters leg was broken in a couple places and she had 4 hours worth of surgery and now has 4 or 5 screws in her ler leg.

The car was driven by a senior citizen who says he swerved to miss a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road. My daughter and her boyfriend  it turns out were very lucky. The vehicle hit them with a glancing blow before hitting her drivers side door. We are very aware of what would have happened had one or both of them been pinned against her truck and the mans vehicle.

So we have a lot to be thankful for even there were some broken bones and a head with several staples in it. They will both recover and be alright. I have a good friend who lost her son in a car accident last year just 5 days before Christmas. For her Christmas is over. It will never be the same.

Let’s all be thankful for what we have.

When I return home on the 26th I will be heading out of town to the beach for 3 days to get ready for 2012.

I plan on coming up with my goals both personal and business. I am going to make a few videos that I will share with you talking about my plans for 2012. Videos are something I find hard to do but I know one of my goals will be to put out a bunch of video and audio out there for my readers.

Hope you like a southern drawl because I got it bad.

After I get back from the beach I will leave for Orlando to watch South Carolina and Nebraska in the bowl game. I am a football nut. I watch high school, college and pro games.

Return from Orlando on the 3rd of January and get back to work.

Some of you know if you have read all of my posts I am still in the military. I work full time training National Guard units that are getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan and other places. I plan on retiring in a little over a year and becoming a full time internet marketer.(The hours I put in some time I feel like I am full time now.)

Starting an internet business while you still work is the best thing you can possibly do. You can learn while you keep your full time job.

To me I think it’s the best of both worlds. I love the military and as my career is winding down and I have found a new passion that I will be able to move right into full time when I retire with about 35 years or so of military service.

For our purposes here we are going to talk about building business blogs. This is a blog that you use to attract online traffic in order to sell products or services. To be interesting to others, your blog will need to:

If you are new to blogging, you can use a free blogging platform to get your feet wet. Sites like Blogger.com and WordPress.org and others offer free blogs to users. Depending on the site you choose, the themes and plug-ins (added features) will vary. Most will walk you through the process step by step so that you can be up and running in no time.

Before you start your blog, decide what will be the theme, or niche of your blog. A jack-of-all-trades type of blog doesn’t do as well as one that is geared towards a certain niche. If you like crafts for instance, that can be your niche.

In order to make money with your blog, you need to have people visiting it. This is where you have to use your marketing skills. You can buy traffic or get free traffic. To GET traffic you have to get the word out about your blog.

Most people do not understand how much traffic you need if you hope to make money with your blog. If you go the free route you will need to spend several hours a day on just marketing to get any decent traffic to your blog.

Don’t expect much traffic for months if you only want to get free traffic. That is unless you are working full time on your blog.

There are several ways you can blog for profit.  Most newbies start with google adsense on their blog. It will be awhile before you have enough traffic to make much money with adsense. I use it on a few of my affiliate sites.

I think the biggest check I have ever received for adsense was $176.00. Google adsense sort of died out but has been making a comeback lately. I started reading a book on adsense by Joel Comm this month. He is the guru of adsense I guess you would say and his new book is like getting a PHD in how to use adsense.

Most people use their blog to sell affiliate products like I do here. The key is to find products you have used and really believe in. The biggest mistake you can make is to try and sell something you know nothing about.

There are to many crap products out there.

You can also sell your own information products you develop on your blog. That is my next step and I think everyone should strive for that if you really want to develop a business.

You can also sell advertising on your blog. To do this you will need to show you have a pretty big following on your blog. Especially if you are not a big name in your niche.

I have a niche website in a sports niche where my competitors are making money by selling advertising such as banner ads. To a lesser extent they are selling physical affiliate products from places like Commission Junction.

I am selling the physical products on my site but I don’t have enough traffic yet to sell advertising space. It’s a very competitive niche and you need high traffic to compete.

Hopefully in the next 2-3 months I will get the traffic I need with some new traffic sources I am working on.
